What shifts a cup of Chai to being a Masala Chai? A world of aromatic spices like cinnamon, fennel, cardamom, anise star, cloves, ginger, coriander and peppercorn. Serve brewed with water or milk, a couple drops of honey or sugar and a twirling cinnamon stick.
Traditional Chai Instructions
- Add half a mug (140ml) of boiling water (per person) to a pot and add one heaping tbls of Chai (per person).
- Low simmer for 5 min
- Add half a cup of milk (cow,nut,oat) per person and slowly heat until you can just see steam. The mixture should start to foam and rise, thats when you know its ready !
- Strain and sweeten to taste.
